JAmhari

Born Julian Amhari Caballerro Stephens December 4th, 1988 in Brooklyn, New York to a Trinbagonian* Creole mother and a Spanish Jamaican father. JAmhari’ parents soon split up before his birth. Jahmari and his mother later moved to Oakland, Ca where he grew up and did most of his schooling. Jahmari was heavily inspired by the music in his surroundings, from the hip-hop he heard in the streets and on the radio to the many West Indian genres of music he heard in his families home.
JAmhari’s father was a disc jockey in New York on his off time during the 1980′s. His mother after movin to the bay area stared her own production company, ”Serendipitous Productions” and also hosted her own radio show Riddums Of Calypso, focusing on promoting a underpublicized Trinidadian sound and style bringin artists such as Mighty Sparrow, Colin Lucas, Machel Mantano & Xtatik, Calypso Rose, David Rudder and many others to the Bay Area and surrounding areas.
As a child he was a active participant in Carnival as well as other cultural events across the country. In the early 2000′s Trinidad started to record music and take it seriously as a art. Co-Producing and writing songs. By the year 2002 he was on tours, rocking crowds with his enchanting voice and lyrical dominance. He has graced the radio with special appearances on KPFA, KPFB, KMEL, KPOO and other various stations across the country including internet radio simulcasts.
Today he can be found in the trenches on a day to day basis “flat foot hustling” as he calls it, while striving to remain relevant and abreast with the current events of the world, for he knows he is a reflection of his environment. He is also in the lab at this moment working on various mixtapes and a solo album entitled “R.O.M.E” Reflections Of My Environment with featured artists Franceyez 3rd I of AMG, P.e.a.c.e. of Freestyle Fellowship, San Quinn, D NOK of Breathe Out & Chaos Da Kader. Production by AMG, 1OAK, WILLOD Productions, The Jawnsuns, DJ Fresh, TTS productions and others. JAmhari`s style is truly a musical gumbo, giving you Raggasoca, Roots Reggae, Hip Hop, R&B & Poetry over ever track he blesses. Be sure to always keep All 3 eyes Open for this young firestarter. -F.
